Title says it all. In all my worlds (including Moonlight Graham, one of the most active, elite worlds in existence), we have a very hard time getting even obviously deserving candidates into the HOF because not enough owners vote. I don't know what the number of votes required right now is to get a player into the HOF, but I think it should be reduced by at least 5. Thoughts?

How about this:

1)  Keep the nomination process as is.  A combination of automatic AI nominations, along with user nominations.

2)  At the end of the nomination period (when ST games start), SIMMY names some HOF electees.  Anywhere from zero to three.

3)  What we currently have as the voting period during ST now becomes a combination voting/veto period.  Ten vetos for any SIMMY electee shoots him down.  Ten votes for anybody else on the ballot gets them in.

The HOF is broken.   One aspect of the game that needs a major overhaul. 

I might even suggest allow voting for the entire season and induction at rollover.

That gives new owners some time to work on their teams and familiarize themselves with the world.  The last damn thing I'm worried about when I join a new world is the HOF.  I've got to get my team together.  Let me settle in and vote later.

Agreed. Also, they need a page to compare the stats of nominated players. Hellish trying to do that right now.

While the list of HOF players is probably still rather small, it would be nice to be able to quickly compare nominees to those already inducted.

But, before they do anything else, change the shown position.   Almost every player ends up as a 1B/LF/DH.   You can't play 1400 games at 2B and show up as a 1B because that's where you played when you were 39.

It might be worthwhile to remove nominations from the hands of the people.   Or require owner nominated players to get a "second" before putting him on the ballot.

I like Mike's second nomination idea.  Also, I would go with a simple majority among voters to get in, assuming that a minimum number of voters participate.  The positional glitch needs to be fixed.  They need to get minor league awards separated from the ML awards.  Also, the ability to scroll through career stats from the voting page would be great.
