Have you ever wanted to use a player like the Babe or the Big Train or Hamering Hank to progress with through there career but the year they get drafted you dont have a top pick well now this is the league for you!! This is going to be different then your regular progresive when you sign up you can select any player that will be your Franchise player the player you will build your team around. You will start at the begining of his career and Progress if you come to a IR season just go to the next eligible season. You cant trade him or cut him till his career is finished. I am looking for players that have played more then 15 Yr min and must have started there career after 1886 .
Secondly after we have 24 owners starting with the last 2 sign up you will select 2 more players of the 3 total 1 should be a pitcher and one a Position Player. The first player is someone that started there career in the 60's 70's 80's or 90's That is now retired that was one of your favourite players. The Second should be a active player or a player that has a sim eligible season in 2010 (Trevor Hoffman would be fine though he recently retired) These 2 players can be cut become free agents or be traded and they cannot skip an IR season. we will also start with there rookie years and progress through the years.
Third from the list of only the 24 franchise players The year that they became sim eligible (ex 1907 Walter Johnson) all other players that became sim eligible the same year would be put into a draft. You would draft your reamaining players from the list of players all starting at there rookie year(ex 1907 Nap Rucker would be avalible to be drafted starting his rookie year).The draft order for this draft will be chosen by the total WAR # for all 3 player selected. There is a chance that 2 players could be franchise players from the same draft (example 1986 Maddux and Bonds) if by chance we need more players to draft I will randomly pick players to be drafted from 1885. To make sure everyone had enough Quality IP for the first year only we would draft 35 players 25 on the main roster and 10 aaa players after the first year we will have a 25 man roster and 5 aaa players. There will be one exepection if a player you draft has a salary of less than 1.5 million you can choose to go to the first season that is above 1.5 thisapplys to the first draft only.
This will be a contract progresive so when you pick or draft a player you need to decide how long you want to keep him on your roster you will have a total of 110 years in contracts for all players including your franchise player who will be signed for atleast 15 years for all other players the max contract is 10 years but most you would sign for 1 or 2 years( ex if 1976 was the year you probably would sign Mark fidrych to a 1 year contract) . The also will be a salary cap im thinking 110 mil (but if owners want more or less it can be changed)
After the season first there will be a draft each owner will nominate one player to be drafted as well I will randomly pick one year and all the first year sim eliglible players will be drafted it will be a 5 round draft. There will be only one instance of each player in this league. The bottom 5 order will be chosen randomly.and 48 wins for a top pick After the draft there will be a free agent draft that includes all players that we not chosen in season 1 as well as any free agents that have expiring contracts. You will receive credits for wins playoff wins individual awards and allstar apperences.
I am a live player but I know that we have a difficult time filling up league and the comittment for a new progresive it would be impossible to fill. So I am proposing that we try and get 12 live player and 12 sim players and keep them in seperate leagues and not have a min for games but only for fun I am sorry this is so long if I missed anything or you have any questions let me know and ill try and answer them. no dh use your own aaa 110 salary cap trades yes Stadium the one your franchise player played in
