Trading for a player who is planning on testing FA Topic

Im  trying to sure up my pitching for next season  as we are coming to the close of the playoffs. I have a waiver claim for a pitcher that i was awarded but the original team pulled them back as it is after the trade deadline. I asked what the player was looking to sign for next season since he is eligible to become a FA. THe player is planning on testing the FA market. The question is, does the player change their minds since its a new team  ithat he may rather be on that his previous club if he is traded, or is he planning on testing the FA market no matter where he goes?

it is my understanding that he will test it whether he remains on the same team or moves to another team.  I say this because I have traded for FA pending guys that the other owner told me was willing to resign with his team, and once I got him on my team, he still wanted to resign, so I don't think switching teams affects that.

I traded for a star SP once who said he was going FA due to being arb'd too many times, and that message did not change when he was traded to my team.

I traded for Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Rigo Mercado after  he was arbed three times.  He signed an extension with me.  Note the high patience and makeup ratings.

I traded for a guy this past offseason and the previous owner said that he wanted to test the free agent waters.  He is willing to re-sign with me.  Patience 86, makeup 64.
