40 Man roster and Rule 5 Newb question Topic

How do I know who is specifically on my 40 man roster.   I understand who is on the ML 25 man roster, but where do the other 15 come from?  Can you put player on the inactive to protect from rule 5?

Edit roster, status info.   All your BL players are obviously on your 40.   Check each minor league level.

No, putting a player on inactive does not protect him from the R5.
