De-evolution of this game with the new recruits Topic

I think it takes more than just recruits to make a team nationally competitive.  I compare myself to OR --- OR generally drafts solid core players and fills in the gaps with role players.... whereas I can out-recruit anyone... the difference is OR is a master gameplanner and I can't gameplan to a championship run for the life of me.  I think we forget that the game is more than just recruiting sometimes here in these forums.  Also - as many have claimed - sometimes the engine is just a crapshoot in the NT... this offers another perspective that the game is more than just having the most talented team.

Girt, I agree that these guys aren't the type that will make you title contenders but they are excellent guys to fill your roster out with and you can get them for cheap which will leave you money to go for 1 or 2 studs that can make you competitive. If D2 schools are getting these type of players it means D1 schools could get guys like this for just a few grand. If you have 4 openings you could sign 2 guys like the ones I've pointed out for less than 10k and with your other 50k go after a "program changer" type. I see so many D1 schools spending 15k+ on guys that aren't even better than what D2 schools are getting for less than 5k.
