I have a 2nd year guy who wasn't redshirted but never played a minute as a frosh. I also didn't use the redshirt on anyone else. He's listed as a SO but theoretically he's eligible for 4 more years. Has anyone dealt with this before? Since he's listed as a SO my guess is he should be listed as a 5th year SR down the line but am not positive since eligible players officially redshirted are listed as FR their 2nd year.

Seriously what? In all D1 sports in RL you have 5 years to complete 4 seasons of play once you enroll full time. The guy didn't compete in ges his first year. I didnt compete 1 season and didint have to fill out paperwork when i competed. Filing paperwork should mean nothing other than to guarantee he doesn't play his first year. Just asking if anyone has had a similar situation since I have not. *****. Seriously...

If you automatically got a 5th year for someone not playing a season, why would you ever red-shirt someone and risk the WE decline?

Just remove the player (or players, since you could get around the limit to one this way) from the depth chart and you'd be golden (unless he transfers away).

thats not the way the game is set up - no extra season merely for not playing

got to get him to accept the RS for it to count... can't just sit him and get it retroactively applied...
