Lowest WE you will recruit? Topic

I would go as low as a 1.......on a transfer, maybe even a 2 year juco if I liked his stats enough.  A 4 year player?  no.  I just recruited a 19 WE 4 year player this week, but I plan on RS him and then starting him 4 years.  His cores are so much better than his peers.  I think after 4 seasons and a RS, he'll max out to his full potential.

I think of WE a little bit like DUR, it doesn't affect your ability to play.  For example, if you look at 2 recruits with equal overall ratings, the one with the lower WE may not improve as quickly, but he probably his higher cores.

for me, I'll go as low as 30 in the current engine as a general rule, but i did just recruit a guy with 26 WE who is high POT in the 8 categories, including the 6 key ones for his position.

20 is what I use in my search.

That's a nice player, Tianyi.  I'd take him in a heartbeat but then right now I'm in the middle of working off the fat of 2 seasons of bad recruiting decisions and I need guys like that in the worst way :).  My only concern with him would be his really low DUR.  Has he had a lot of injuries?

ethan, you really should ignore durability completely. its really very unimportant.

Good to know, if true.   Other non-WiS sims place more importance on durability.  I've lost players for half of a season with broken bones.  Which sucks.  So that's where my mindset comes from.  I think the longest injury I've had was my senior PF last year, DUR 72, who had a concussion for 5 days.  That's it.

yeah, the correlation between rate and severity of injury, with durability, is not that strong. and meaningful injuries are pretty rare to start with. i'd probably take a guy with 100 dur and 90 reb over a guy with 1 dur and 92 reb, all else equal, but i would definitely take a 1 dur, 95 reb guy.

I guess this didn't matter much.  A DI team has decided to go after him.  I've always liked to stay above 25 WE but have made exceptions for certain players.  I don't think this player would have been worth it though.
