Redshirt 'loophole' fixed? Topic

Or am I just having bad luck?

Usually, as long as I haven't promised starting or x number of minutes, a player accepts a redshirt without telling them your intention during recruiting even if it takes a few tries of reinstating/re-redshirting.

But just got a PG that's refused for 7 times now... he's far from good and is obviously 3rd best on the team at this point, so just wondering...

This isn't a loophole. Some guys just won't accept it

Just luck.  Some will take it and some won't.

Doing the "inform of redshirt" during recruiting is the only way to guarantee they will take it.

You can get a decent idea of how likely they are to take it doing coach calls and evals.  "Rides the bus" guys will usually take it, for example.

BTW, although they sometimes will take it after several attempts, the chances of them taking a redshirt decrease every time you take it off and reapply.
I learned this the hard way when I once took it off a guy who had accepted it first try, then would not accept it again.

Furry,
I was talking of the sort of loophole that if a player 'rejects' the first time you redshirt him, he can possibly accept it later on the 2nd, 3rd, 6th try.  Should be either yes or no right off the bat IMO as little to no players should waffle on whether they'd be willing to accept a RS or not.

Still my mistake for being out of money without running the redshirt by him in the recruiting phase...

Got this during a couple evals which leads to thinking that he's a team player, but apparently not.

"Also, at the game I saw, the coach didn't start him in the 4th quarter and he didn't seem to care. He was still cheering his teammates on."

I still can't blame anyone but myself though for not spending the whopping $10 to inform him!

I tried on 3 guys over 5 times each this season and so far none will take it.  ********

The inform button doesn't always work.  The last 3 times I've used it even paired with a CV they have dropped off my radar for good.

Crappy player I was looking to RS declined all 13 times, so gotta make him the 11th man and get some serious splinters.

I've had success getting them to take a RS by making sure they never get in a  game if they decline the first couple times then try to apply again as soon as the reagular season has ended. That has worked on 4 out of 5 so far.

And it's also fun to go power trippy on them.  Fine, you don't want to take a redshirt?  Well you're sitting anyway.  Loser.

Makes me feel like a tough guy.
