I'm in DII and just signed a DI transfer showing 3 years eligibilty. He was academically inelible his frosh year in DI and rescinded by his coach. Will he become a SR/5 for me and give me 4 years of eligibility?

No problem. I was wondering the same thing, and my question was answered when he was still on my team after the offseason rollover for his 5th year. I assumed he'd come back, but I wasn't totally sure.

I thought I read somewhere that in  DI, they may or may not come back.

True, but he's now on a D2 team.  He'll be back.  I also had a same situation several seasons ago.  And to follow up, it's actually a 2.7 GPA, but that's a moot point here.
