I put together what I thought was a solid defense in Major Leagues. Team fielding % is.986 which is in the middle, it's 2nd in + plays with 57. The only apparent benefit is that pitching seems to have improved, but no way to know how much defense had to do with that, 8 CG's so far this season Vs. 4 last, 43 QS Vs. 67 and the world is only at game 70. The thing that really sux (and hacks me off to no end) is 70 unearned runs(makes the math pretty simple). Considering the ratings of this defense, that seems pretty far out dere to me, but I guess you can't have everything, especially when simmy is driving the boat.

Just checked the team stats in major leagues, looks to me like 25 unearned runs over 37 errors, which in my experience is a typical ratio.

I don't know what I was looking at but I stand corrected. I guess I'm not as hacked as I thought I was. Thanks. Even with the small sample size, I'd like to hear any thoughts about what I perceive as improved pitching.

You're on pace for 15 fewer errors than last yr and about 70 more net plus plays. Your run avg last yr was 5.06, season to date Is 4.03. I'd attribute about 1/3rd of that difference to your improved defense. At a glance your primary catcher PC rating seems about the same, so if i were digging further i'd look to changes in pitching staff, strength of schedule, and SSS.
