Best Team I've Ever Seen Topic

First 18 seasons at Colorado: 3-3 in PIT games, 5-10 in NT games.  Last 7 seasons at Colorado:  18-5 in NT games, 0 PIT appearances.  Interesting...dunno if I've ever seen someone have just moderate success for that long at one school suddenly turn it on and be dominant like that...

The Colorado team in Knight is possibly the most talented team I've seen in HD.

I can't believe how young that team is and how much better it is in every category than all the other teams in the world.
solid team. It will be interesting to see what happens with EEs along the way - but then again - its obvious the coach is a strong recruiter so those EEs can be replaced.

2 EEs this season, nothing too crazy, kept a 900 rated player or two.

New engine, maybe the recruits generated within a reasonable distance has improved a great deal?

He had similar rpi's/records in some of the previous years, the difference was the NT success. He had a run where he won a couple extra NT games each season and finally got over the hump with prestige, and that enabled/emboldened him to really go after more big-time recruits.

As far as the reason behind the increased NT success ... could be that the light switch came on, could be he was on the right side of the coin where he'd previously been on the wrong side ... my guess would be a combination of the two.
