Right now the list of guys I want to call in the first cycle from Rochester in Knight is 27 players long.  I'll probably end up chopping it down a bit more, 'cause even if half of those guys take the call I'm using up the better part of a scouting trip on calls.  But I've never had more than 10-12 on the short list before.

I thought the Knight recruits were the worst I've ever seen. Just horrible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the current recruits in Knight were generated under the new system.

Hmmmmm, true.  And based on what pjbranklin said maybe all the good recruits that usually seem to build up the New England schools moved to NY this year and all our sucky players filled up the New England prep schools since they could get PT there after the mass emigration of talent.

Just watch out if all the molecules in the air in the room migrate to one side!

Out West there are slim pickens, this is the worst recruit pool on the West Coast since the new engine started

you are concerned about spending a couple hundred dollars on calls? in my prime, i would spend a couple *thousand*, every single season. i cannot fathom having 10 recruits on my list. that is just insanity.

I have more than that on my list, but I only call my top choices in the first cycle.  I don't see any reason to waste half a recruit's worth of money making calls when I only have two or three openings and only need to find that many of my favorite guys who will talk to me...

I don't entirely know your time frame in this game, but if it was pre-potential that makes a lot more sense.  Try to find the best guys nationwide who will talk to you.  But when I've only FSSed one state there aren't hundreds of guys worth calling...  There aren't hundreds of guys who would actually take my calls who aren't D3 recruits already.
