How much is being a recruits "favorite school" worth? Just wondering how different coaches use this, if at all...

Maybe worth 1/3 a grade of prestige at most.  Could be half that.  Some effect though, I got into a big battle with Arkansas a few years back and it was more expensive than antici[ated due to it.

In my experience (which granted isn't a whole, whole lot), I figure it to be about 89 cents worth of recruiting effort.  It certainly isn't as much as it probably should be.  If it's going to be part of the game, it should at least have a discernible impact, which I don't feel like it does.  Just my opinion though......

I just had a battle where I was at a 2/3 letter grade disadvantage and my school was the favorite school and it actually came pretty close to evening out the battle, however his preference was also close to home and I was only 10 miles away. So it was really the combination of both that nearlly evened it out. So I'm guessing it's worth between 40-50%, a lot more than people give it credit for.

it should only play a part if there was some common sense to how a recruit choose a favorite school.

Over the past 4 seasons in Allen, only one D1 recruit from the state of Michigan, a #63 SG, listed Michigan State as his favorite.
