I bet the coach is a lefty and tutoring them to play in the infield that way.
Perhaps he is uncleal?

It's pretty unrealistic that professional baseball players would adopt measures to make them worse players, regardless what the coach says.  Slowing progression is one thing, but regressing is dumb.

It's a sim.  Some concessions must be made to FORCE people to participate in certain aspects of the game.   The ol' "Anyone can pick up a copy of Baseball America to find out who the top 100 prospects are!!!' argument is true.  But, if you tell me I can see the top 100 prospects without spending money on scouting, guess how much I spend on HS/College scouting?

The Marge Schott School of Ignoring Scouting didn't go extremely well in real baseball.

This isn't real baseball.   George Foster never had 93 listed as his power rating.

I wonder what Bonds' power rating was in 2001

That's the thing.   I wonder what he had in '86 and '93?   Because I can tell you we won't see a Bonds-like improvement in HBD where he goes thru the roof at 36,  Which is one of the annoying things about "real baseball" comparisons.    "Real baseball" doesn't put a solid number on a rating.   In it's purest HBD form, 84 is always better than 83.   It's just a number.

As I said, tell me the top 100 players in every draft.   I won't worry about projections because I'm getting 2-3 of them.  I'll draft off the hard, current number.
