"I think xxxx is still on the fence coach. We're going to have to do a decent amount of 'recruiting' to sway him our way."

Does that mean he's still a dropdown/pulldown, or is he recruitable now?  And if he is recruitable, is there reason to believe he might cost more to recruit than another guy?

Can anyone confirm this or speak to whether there's any truth to him requiring more effort than some other recruits?  I interpreted it to mean that he's recruitable, but I've only got 1 bullet left and I'd rather not shoot it at a decoy.  Particularly recruiting for a team that went 0-27 last season.

The wording is just window dressing. That's a generic response from a recruit open to your efforts. So if you're D3, he should be on your D3 search now and behave like any other normal recruit (i.e. not a dropdown/pulldown).

That's the thing that made me question it in the first place.  He still shows up in the D2 search.

Hmmm, so I offered the scholarship figuring if I got any bad responses I could take it back.  Turns out that's the one recruiting action you can't undo...

if he's within 70 miles, that could explain why he's on your D2 screen still.  But he's good to go...trust me !?!?

Yeah, I didn't realize until later that his WE sucks.  So I'm stuck trying to bring in a guy who will never get all that good because of limiting WE.  Oh well...

you talking about weilman? that guy looks studly to me, even if he never reaches max potential given the 21 WE.

It'll have to be good enough.  I spent over $5000 apiece on 2 of the 4 guys I already got and over $4k on a third, so there wasn't much money left.

Yeah, he was right in my hometown.  So it's not a huge shock he'd be on the D2 list but willing to talk to me.
