I suppose the question that hasn't been answered is does whether or not the trade sucks make a difference in whether or not you would make the trade? In this case, as awful as this trade was, there's no way you can say it should have gone through regardless of lame duck owner status...

If you are leaving a world you should NOT trade anyone because there is no reason for you to further "Destroy" or "Better" the team at that point. Make sure you do the end of season promotions etc. or hand over the team after the regular season especially if you are not making the playoffs.
