The player of the game in this game had 1 PA after coming in as a defensive replacement.  Granted it was a bases clearing double, but the game was fairly out of reach already.  Given such a balanced offensive attack shouldn't the PoG really be the pitcher who went 8 innings and gave up only 1 run?  I know it doesn't matter, but whatever logic decided that Rivers was the most valuable player in that game seems pretty messed up to me.

I'm surprised the pitcher didn't get it with eight innings of one-run ball.  But if they don't give it to the pitcher, they usually give it to the position player with the most RBI's, regardless of when or how those RBI's occurred unless there is a walkoff hit or something.
