1) You need ath, spd, and if you're pressing, stamina. Defense rating helps reduce fouls in the press and makes it better in general. For me, most offenses (other than the fastbreak) require the same attributes for the most part, the distribution is just different. In the triangle, you can lean heavily on one or two players moreso than the Flex or Motion. Guards need ath, spd, def, per, bh, passing with low post as an added bonus for finishing at the rim. Bigs need ath, def, reb, sb, lp, and anything with perim/bh/passing is a positive although I do like to have good passing big men with the triangle.
2) 2-3, 3-2 zone are both part of the zone IQ. Halfcourt press/man to man or Halfcourt press/2-3/3-2 zone is called a combo defense and really not recommended for D3. If you practice the press AND either the man or zone, then you should pick halfcourt press + your other d, but you're really not gonna do that. Just stick with the Fullcourt Press for now.
3) Just an fyi, the team you picked up is among the worst in Division 3 in that world it looks like. It will be probably 2 seasons before you start to see any kind of results. The good news is that you have a lot of scholarships open so you can get close to half a roster of your own players quickly. The bad news is that the 7 players that you have left should be playing broomball or curling instead of basketball.
