Development Question Topic

An IFA has come up who, without going into too much detail on his actual ratings, is only several points away from his projections. He has poor patience and makeup, so my question is how will he develope? Could he actually be essentially done developing before his pro career even starts? Or would you expect him to get really close to his projections despite his poor development ratings because he has four years (or whatever) to gain only a few points?
And I guess I'm asking this relative to say a player with identical projected ratings, but who is much further away at the start of his pro career (and who avoids injury, bad coaches, neglected playing time, or any other "depends" scenarios you can come up with). Thanks!

My point was he's an example of an IFA signed at 23, BL ready and pretty much developed.

I wish you hadn't deleted your post, that way I could say "STFU".

Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Matty Valdivia

That is the player that made me ask this question. Just wanted to update. As you can see he is pretty well done developing despite being several pts away from the projections I see with my 18mil adv scouting. He was an IFA that went for 30mil. Even if he had come close to his projections, I think 30mil was too much, but its waaaay too much given that he's all but done developing. So beware!

So, another question is does this happen to amateur draft prospects as well? Say a 22 yr old who isn't too far away.

How much of a factor does temper and patience figure in with development?

Patience plays a role in a player's ability to deal with adversity following demotions, injuries and lack of promotions.
Temper reflects how well a player deals with spur-of-the-moment adversity such as being hit by a pitch or called out on strikes.
