Arb - Long Term Contract Topic

Since we have one day (real day) to sign Arb guys to long term contracts. I think it would be nice to be able to negotiate with these players the season before. Or allow offering long term contracts during the arb cycle, thus giving two days. Thoughts.

You can negotiate on arb day.   In the long, busy paragraph above the offer area, there's a link for offer LT deals.

Oh, season before, no.   Departing owners shouldn't be making long-term contract decisions for the next owner.  There's no way to differentiate between who's staying or going.

Yeah I see that point. But thanks for the info on the long term link during arb day. Never saw that.  Two days is way better then the one day I thought we had.

But you're already making decisions for the next owner by signing anyone to a multi-year contract.  The budget controls keep that from getting out of hand.

I would like to be able to negotiate with them in season/the previous season as well. I see it no different then signing a guy in the last year of their contract. In both cases, the "previous" owner has the power to make a decision that affects future owners. It would certainly make budgeting easier.
