What was your RPI when you finished second in your division?

How did you perform in non-conference games?

How many wins against top 50 RPI teams?  What about top 100??

He took over a team that did not have a winning season for the last six seasons, got them to the NT and 22 wins in his 4th season there, and the 5th season they go 14-14.  And it is not a Big BCS conference school.  I think that is a little unrealistic, even though he is not going to get fired or anything, it will still be a little silly for the boosters to be complaining in my opinion.

it is odd - I would have expected that team to be meeting expectations his first three seasons, then exceeding when they got to the dance and then come back down to meeting expectorations in season 5 - might be worth a ticket asking why it didnt happen that way

I posted something similar to this last season in Naismith after I took a similar team with a D prestige to multiple NTs and then missed the postseason one year  and only made the PIT the year after that. The boosters started up on me as well. One would think when a schools baseline prestige is D, and ours is higher than that, the boosters would stick a rag in it, but as we all know, just like the ladies, once they get a taste of the good life, they only want more. My (constant) question is why TF are our boosters whining, when a coach at a big 6 school with a B+ baseline can go 8 plus years without an NT appearance, and consistant seasons without even getting up to the schools baseline, even with the cash bonuses and the baseline pulling them up, w/o getting fired?

key thing there is that these labels "boosters complaining" etc are just arbitrary names for a job securuity factor - call them what you want, the steps are 1 jeopardy, 2 boosters complaining, 3 meeting expectations and 4 exceeding expectations.

What it takes to move up or down a step can depend on prior seasons and baseline. 

I think it is the rule that if you increase the win total at a new job, you cant go down from a 3 for your first three seasons.

in the example in this thread, I would have expected him to be at 3-3-3-4-3 .....and not at a 2 now.....

to get fired, you need to get to jeopardy - a 1 on the above scale - and then something more bad has to happen - you can hang in there at jeopardy with rather mediocre seasons (which I think should be made more realistic, tougher....

He did take an RPI plunge of 102, and the second worst RPI since he has been there.

Also, hovering around .500 while playing in a conference w. only three other human coaches (none of whom have even made the postseason the last couple years) ... well, let's be realistic about that actually means and what it doesn't.
