Is there much of a difference if you were to budget 12 as opposed to 18?  I mean....So what if your projections of a player are off by 5 rating points.  Or is there even more of a swing than I realize?  I just don't see the point of budgeting much for that.

18 to 12 is a significant difference.  Don't think I can quantify it other than my belief that the degredation in accuracy of projections is not linear.  The further from 20 you are, the more skewed and less trustworthy the projections.

I figured that....I'm just saying that I can't comprehend on how it would make that much of a difference.  It's not like they are going to throw a 75 raing guy and have him appear as a 60?  Are they?  I know that's really general, I'm just using that as an example.

How big of a difference do you think there is between an 18m player and a 12m player?

depends on the morons bidding on them, my guess is the 18m guy got pushed up by 2 knuckleheads that refused to give up and meanwhile the 12m who was pretty comparible got snagged cheaper

Would you take a 50% raise in your salary?  That's the difference going from 12 to 18.  Of course I run AS at 0, which is going to have 0 effect on 99.9% of the players in the FA market that are worth either $12 mil or $18 mil a season.

I dropped mine from $13 million to $9 million and noticed some of the guys I drafted last season have a lot better projections than I recalled before.
