Most anyone can do is tie for first, and if you go based on eventual winner, then you're still just splitting it three ways.

Yeah, I don't think we should throw in a tiebreak ad hoc.  We can figure out how to split as needed.

If we were going to pay out 60/30/10 anyway to top three finishers, it does our math for us.

If Kentucky wins it all, we have a five way tie. That's just $20 apiece.

If Connecticut wins it all, it's a three way tie. The two guys who had Connecticut and were tied for the lead could take $30 and I'd take $20. That splits it out while weighting the national champion, as breum suggested.

If Butler or VCU wins, I win outright. Then second place would be split based on who the runner up is. Kentucky would be a four way tie for second, so everyone there gets their money back. If it's connecticut, the two guys will split the $40.

Seems simple enough.

Yep, that all works.  And I'm covering jdvaught's gay sex club crime scene of an entry, so if Kentucky wins, I just don't pay anyone.  If Kentucky runners up, I owe $10, and if  Kentucky loses Saturday, I owe $20.  I think that makes sense, but I just confused myself.

Yea there are a few people who havent paid yet, but most of them have a chance of winning their money back, so I haven't bothered them about it yet.

ok so we have 3 people tied with 17.  2 of them picked UConn, one did not.  There are 100 dollars to split amongst them.  35-35-30 ok for everyone or would someone like to propose a different split?

Congrats to jamespastine, tbook, and robot for their winning entries.
