I informed a guy of my intention to redshirt him during recruiting.  After that, he said I was crazy and then became no longer interested. Can I just withdraw my intention or am I screwed now?

Just withdraw. In the future, if you couple the inform of redshirt with 3 home visits, they will be ****** off but they will still be interested, sign, and then take the redshirt with no work ethic drop. It's called paying for a redshirt. Done it many times.

Only 3 hv's?  That's good to know.  I generally do 2 CV's or 5 HV's.

The amount of effort needed varies. I've done 5 hv's and still had them dump me.

Really depends on prestige versus how good the recruit is. I've had success doing it with 2 HVs. But if you a B- school and it's a top recruit it'll cost more. A+ school and it's a so-so recruit you might not even need to do add anything.
