Dodger Stadium vs. Astrodome Topic

I have always seen most speed teams play out of the Astrodome. I have always felt like Dodger Stadium would be a better fit since singles are +2 instead of -1. Yes, you'll give up more homeruns, but most of the time I am drafting dead ball pitchers to go with my speed team anyway and Dodger Stadium is still -1 for homeruns, on top of the fact that the park factor is 0.87 vs. 0.89. I think the +2 from the singles will have a bigger effect creating more runs than the amount of runs your pitcher will give up due to the -4 to -1 difference in home runs. When you have a team full of 90+ speed, my opinion is your team will generate a lot more runs because they can go from 1st to home on a single, not to mention most of your team is chalked full of base stealers.

Does anyone have any data to support this? Anyone have any additional input?

It seems like creating your team off of speed and pitching is still the most dominating way to create a team in OL. BTW, I used to be under the tag BornIrish, but stopped playing a while back and forgot my password so I had to create a new account. I am not a rookie as my name suggests.

Thanks for any input.

When you have a team full of copy/paste players, you tend to get bored easy and leave...

I actually had to leave 6 theme league seasons behind because my wife passed away and I could not find the energy or motivation to continue them. Simleague is at its best when your drafting from a specific season and managing an entire career of players. I have been apart of sim for over 3 years and my teams support players that are at the top of my searches besides a few that I have on all my teams. Thanks for your childish and insignificant comment booger. Anyone that has a comment about the subject of the post please feel free to comment.

If you are using modern (high HR/9) pitchers use the dome.  If you are using deadballers, use Dodger.

I think I won my first TOC with a Dodger Stadium team. This was before the last update and team featured 3x300 ip, 9Mil deadballers, with around .200-.215 oav, high walks (2-3bb/9), high contact speed hitters, with great range. Personally, for a speedy team w/o pop, I like dodger stadium more. It gives you more things to work with (defense, range) and it punishes teams that go the low bb/9 route.

The above post is if I was forced to choose between either Dodger Stadium or Dome. I prefer offensive parks like Kaufman and Palace of the Fans much more, since it's hard to find players with just speed and no power.

Astrodome better for Walks, doubles and triples, higher HR pitchers and fatigue management. Dodger better for pure singles and some power.

If you're building a speed team you're generally building a pitching team as well.  The two best pitching parks are the Dome and Petco...by a wide margin.

I think Safeco and Petco.  You can get away with pretty mediocre pitchers in those parks.  The Astrodome has a pretty modest modifier to hits overall, but just kills homeruns.
