I was in billiards (pool) hall last evening after work and I saw the picture (or one similar to the one) shown in this story.  It was signed by the three men involved in the incident, but the only signature I could read/recognize was Johnny Roseboro.  While I consider myself to be a pretty knowledgable baseball fan, I had no idea about the incident and how it affected the HoF voting for Marichal.  I also mildly surprised to learn Johnny Roseboro was black.

Just curious if anyone here remembers the incident or knew of it. 

Marichal and Roseboro wound up being good friends. The incident probably prevented Marichal from making the hall on the first ballot. Costas did a good interview with Marichal on MLB TV's Studio 42 show.

John Roseboro was a very good catcher.  Back in those days, there was alot of bad blood between the Giants and the Dodgers.  Marichal was suspended after the incident and that hurt the Giants chances of finishing in first place that year.
