Didn't there used to be individual settings for each player that set how often they would be hit for?  I am sick of the sim making idiotic decisions that cost me games.  

In the 8th inning of a game that I was winning 2-1, they decide to let my starting pitcher, Ted Lilly, hit.  OK...not a great decision, but not unbelievably bad.  Next up, of course, is my leadoff hitter, Mark Ellis...WHO IS PINCH-HIT FOR BY JD DREW.  WHY would they remove my leadoff hitter from the game (who by the way, has the best defensive ratings at 2B on my team) for a PH but not the pitcher?

Is there any way to change settings to prevent things like this from occurring?

Go to the Manager's Center, then to "Advanced Settings". There you can check or uncheck the "PH" (pinch hitter) option for every player in your lineup which will over-ride all other settings. I'm sure there are guys in your starting eight which you do not want pinch hit for under any circumstances, just un-check that "PH" box for those players and they will never be pinch hit for. That is at least a start for dealing with this issue.

probably to get a favorable matchup. Sparky likes pinch hitting lefties for righties when there is a righty pitcher. Lilly is already a lefty and for some reason this is more important than the fact that he is a terrible hitter. Sparky's priorities are weird.
