Is the SEC good in any world? I'm in 4 worlds (all 3 2 a days and Wooden) and in all the SEC is either the 5th or 6th best conference in all of them and doesn't have higher than a B prestige in either.

Are the SEC schools just in crappy locations which make them really hard to recruit well and win in or is it something else that makes the SEC tough to make a great conference.

It's good in Naismith-- usually 3rd or 4th behind the usual suspects, sometimes as high as second I think.

LSU is great for recruiting, UF can be if you know what you're doing. Not sure anyone else there is in a great recruiting spot.

Maybe too much overlap with the ACC.

SEC is dominant in Smith. Conference prestige: A. Conference RPI hasn't been below .6000 for ages (.6288 in just-completed season, which was solid but unexceptional). A SEC team has either won or been defeated in the National Championship 11 of the past 12 seasons, with the title game being an all-SEC affair two times. Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky are all particularly ferocious. Everybody else pretty strong except for South Carolina and my Vanderbilt team, which are both trying to rebuild.

The Big 12 is actually the weak sister right now in Smith, sporting a B- prestige.

SEC also has the top conference prestige in Rupp.

Good to see it's possible.

I think the newly constituted SEC in Tark will get better soon...

Looks like you guys have a chance but it's still going to be tough with how good the ACC is and I think the ACC actually just got a little better.

Tark SEC was usually in the top 3 or 4 for a long time when I first joined, but since the new engine, attrition has killed us and too many simais has kept us in the bottom half of the big 6.  Now that we are full again...I will almost guarantee that we move up into the top 3 each season - but it will take 4-5 seasons for that too happen as we slowly get rid of the SIM recruits in our conference.  Well - at least a guy can hope and pray.
