From what I understand, if I were playing a first round playoff series that was a best of seven, my pitchers would be allocated (7/162)*Total pitches plus up to 5% of that unused total pitch allocation. For example, 1908 Addie Joss is allocated roughly 4825 pitches for the season by the SIM. You can save up to 5% of those by not using them during the regular season, so 241 pitches. You also have (7/162)*4825 = 208 for a total of 449, so you could easily get 4 starts from that 1908 Joss if necessary. My question is, do any of those unused 449 pitches carry over into the following series? Or is the free ride over?
