I used to play the computer version of APBA (it was a great game until the company that made it went belly up).

They used to have rain delays, and the occasional rain-out (which was kind of cool when you were playing in season-mode).  The rain delays would have an effect on the pitchers when the game resumed, usually downgrading their effectiveness.

But for games that were played in domed stadiums, they would have the occasional benches-clearing brawl that would take the place of the rain delay.  Don't remember players getting ejected, but the delay would have the same effect on the pitchers in the game when it resumed.  The other cool thing about the brawls is that some of the fans would also come out onto the field to join in.  The fans were the game developers, and they were mentioned by name.

I had the computer version of APBA, it was a great game. The versions I had had Ernie Harwell as the play-by-play. It was awsome.

The board game was cool, had the basic then advanced versions.  It was fantasy baseball before fantasy.  I had a group of friends that would get together and draft teams, then playout seasons.  We had player cards from 88-85-82-80-76 seasons.  Dwight Goods A&C card and Dennis Eckersley as an A&B reliever were the bomb. :)  I think you can still find the game sold online.  My is still collecting dust at my parents old house.

It was a great game back when a persons attention span was measured in hours not seconds.
