My gut is telling me he is worth a late 2nd rounder or early third?  Is that about right?

I would say mid to late 2nd rounder, if you can get him in the 3rd, that seems like a pretty good deal in my experience.  Then again, i guess it depends on what year you are in and how deep the draft is, but overall i would say you have the right idea.

After looking it up and finding out it is 1972 Roberto Clemente, i would say mid to low 2nd just because

I can usually find those guys in the late 3rd. Even in a 24-teamer there are a lot of corner OFs. Assuming there's no DH.
