Pretty simple....even if you are a great hitting team, if you pitching also allows tons of runs you are destined for .500.  However, if you pitching staff routinely gives up 3 runs or less, nearly any offense in SIM will score 4 runs per game.

But the question in my mind wasn't whether SP is more important overall, but whether in making a decision on one player -- especially with one high draft choice in a draft league -- whether it isn't better to invest that pick in an SP than a hitter...  I decided on the pitcher.
