Is there a good way to go about getting a boost for a good player with good ratings that are playing really poorly?

Someone told me that if you add them to the trading block, that sometimes they will snap out of it.  Is this true?  Any other suggestions?

Seriously, this is a computer simulation and everything is based off of ratings and algorithms. Over a long enough sample size, all players should perform as expected to based on their ratings and there is no magic managerial move you can make that can change short term samples.

Try this:
1. Print-out his player card, make sure it's in color.
2. Next; Fillet of a fenny snake,  In the cauldron boil and bake; Eye of newt, and toe of frog,  Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing, For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
3. When boiling toss the player's card into the brew and chant, Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Starting the very next cycle the guy should go on a tear.

I like to bat my slumping players in the #2 slot.  Seems they always snap out of it, which entertains me on two levels. One because I am a genius manager and two because it helps me remember what I learned about confirmation bias.  And, there is nothing like the warm feeling of confirmation bias to get the serotonin flowing!

I'm fatally stubborn, but after about a season, I'll try to trade them for a similar turd on another team. Sometimes you get the spark happening both ways, sometimes not so much.
