your crazy on hernandez a 6th at best when said and done. i disagree. his control will end up close to a 70 not great but not bad his left will be in the 60s his right close to an 80 . his vel. isnt great but i have seen worse will end up around a 40

Well, YOU asked for MY opinion...

In all fairness, I value pitches less than any other player I know who's had a few seasons under his belt, and I probably overvalue control a little.  So a guy like this, most of whose value is in his pitches, I probably underrate. But not by that much; he's not going to be better than a low pitch count SP4 for a championship team.  In STL, in the AL, I see ERAs in the mid 4s in about 160-170 IP.

a #4 or #5 is all i need or ever want from him. and depending on what i do with the rest of my staff the next 4-5 seasons he may never see the starting rotation.

I'm with MikeT....I'll bet they are about the same in performance.  Spencer has a failry low vL split (approx. 50) and really only one decent pitch, but his velo and GB ratio are nice.  If that were 8 pts higher, he would be just fine.  He also is much more Durable than Hernandez.  Hernandez has a bit better splits but his velo and GB# are low.

Pick 'em.
