Recruit Generation : SFs - from worst to best Topic

One of my long standing complaints back in the day was how bad SF recruits were. I'd usually end up playing a guard or power forward in that spot instead. Well since the last update it seems like SFs are the best all arounf players out there. In DII Naismith, out of the top 20 rated players, 14 of them are SFs.

That's insane.

I think the new recruit generation pretty much sucks with player ratings that are all over the place. Sort of makes sense that SFs would benefit the most since that is the most hybrid position out there.

I can't remember the last time I had a player listed as a  "SF" play the 3 on one of my teams.

Either a PF or C that can dribble and pass with maybe some perimeter, or a PG/SG that has some rebounding.

I still rarely have SFs play SF. On my 5 teams I don't have an actual SF starting at SF, in total I only have 4 SFs on my 5 teams.

I have found some solid SF's I agree. My FL Southern team has 2 that have developed decently for me.

Just because they're highly rated doesn't mean they're the best players for that position.  I, however, have had success with good SFs playing SF in D1 (at a mid-major).  I have also found that good rebounding SFs work very well in the 2-3 zone.

FWIW, last season I started 3 SFs at PG, SF, PF.  Starting two this season at SF & PF.

I should add that my all-time leading scorer at WVU is a SF I recruited 6 seasons ago and the best player in Tark is a junior SF.

some of my best ever players at DIII were SF's. the good ones are tough to find, but they can be incredibly helpful when you find one
