I've got a bunch of guys at AAA who have been very productive there for a few years (.290+/.350+/.500+) but all have significant flaws in their hitting ratings. Based on their ratings only, they don't seem like major leaguers to me but they tear up AAA pitching every season. It makes me wonder if I'm so hung up on what they can't do, I might be missing out on a ML bench player.

If you had these guys at AAA while running a playoff contender at the ML level, would you give any of them a look?

If you are AL and have a very good 1B, Beckett might be useful as a LH DH or occaional fill-in if NL.  Laker a bit less so. They other guys, no.

I would call all of them up immediately.

I could find a spot for all of them on a BL bench.   Huang would be the most useless unless he can really field 2B.

In my opinion Laker is very useful as an ML bench player, but the rest are stretches unless you really need a cheap, weak bench player.

Looking at the team, Maduro. He'll pop one out every now and then, and wouldn't kill you being in the field a couple of innings.

Beckett stinks....

The other guys, looking at their fielding ratings, are all corner OF's.  Laker, as a vL platoon is very attractive...probably would be OK as a fulltime LF, but 53-53-47-45 are pretty cruddy fielding numbers.  Huang is a .210-.230-.470 type of player, could plaay a lousy 3B, too.  Maduro is basicaly the same playeer...will put up nearly identical numbers.   Unamuno is a .230-.280-.480 player....corner OF.  I'll bet Laker is something like .230-.295-.495.    As a #6 or 7 hitter...he'll be fine.  Will hit 30 HR's.

Anytime you have a player with a 80+ pow or con and a 50+ VL or VR with a 50+ eye, he can be useful on a BL team.   Every player on your BL roster can't be 80+ across the board unless you're playing in some 'tard world where the dumbasses give you those guys for 75 overall pitchers with 33 control.

Unamuno should be called up.
