Is this SS worth $20 M? Topic

If I told you that, it's strategy.

However, basically, transfering budget = $1M spent on nothing for every $2M transfered. From that, figure it out.
If you'd pay them at least $6 million a year, getting them for $20 million as an IFA is a bargain.

No it isn't.

$6M = 1/30th of my cap. $20M = 1/9th of my cap IF...huge IF...I transfered no money to spend it.

$6M, assuming you mean FA, means someone knows what they're getting because they have enough ML experience and the ratings are what they are.

$20M = lottery. A more focused, the odds are better lottery, but still a lottery that has to make it through correct coach hiring, injuries and general know how.

Seriously. If it worked, that strategy would win more than once every 32 times. It doesn't.

$6m per year for three years - minimum salary = $17m
$6m per year for two years - arb awards = about $7-8m

That doesn't count a fourth pre-arb year if you make him a Super Two, which adds another $5.7m to the total.

Even accounting for inflation, a player 'worth' $6m a season once he develops is above the break-even point for a $20m cost to acquire his rights.

Absolutely true. Enjoy the High A championships you win with that $20M.

Honestly, I WANT people to use that strategy. It's to my benefit. So I'm not going to work that hard to convince you otherwise.
