uptempo is the culprit.

Against a team with only 5 upperclassmen and 2 walkons you wouldn't go uptempo?

The RNG was the culprit offensively, but I'm hesitant to run uptempo against a 2-3 with speedy guards.  If you run normal, you'll get better looks, and I have no doubt you would have shot a little better from the outside.

But the bigger problem is that your guards got predictably trashed by his. Yes, you have more ath, but he has much faster guards against your press.  Your guys simply don't have the def to make up for that.

In sum, your offense missed more shots than I would predicted, and didn't get nearly as many FT/SCP as 20 offensive rebounds should, but I'm not surprised he lit up your guards.

Looking at the play by play, your team was much more fatigued than your opponent's. In the first half when it was 30-25, your backcourt got extremely tired while your opponent's were fresh, and thats where they pulled away in a 14 point swing.

I also made a post about this a few months back during Phelan playoffs, where a team going 2-3 zone slowdown played only 6 players, and went all the way to the elite 8. Their opponents thought uptempo was the way to go and all of them lost because somehow, the teams with 11 players going uptempo got more tired than the team with 6 playing 2-3 zone slowdown. Zone stamina seems a little whacky.

And I didn't even realize you were running fcp with that stamina. I would definitely be going slowdown for all your games, unless you are facing a human coach whose team is much worse than yours and you know he's going slowdown as well. I got blown out 2x last season in Tark against horrendous sims going normal tempo and uptempo, thinking the sim is really bad and have walkons. Game ended up the same way, I get to an early lead, hit a fatigue wall where no one can play fresh, and eventually lost by 20+.

it really has nothing to do with zone or his gameplan, when a guard gets 3 fouls in under a minute you're pretty much fucked for that half

So you're position is that if one player has to sit on the bench, the team whose player is on the bench is fucked?

I respectfully disagree.

Uptempo FCP is a recipe for disaster without a full rotation plus 78+ stam, give or take

Accepted.  Although high noon works better with my work schedule.

I think a big part of the problem was that we inexplicably decided to chuck up a ton of 3s.  We usually don't do that, which is good since nobody on my team can shoot.

Not being able to shoot 3s isn't real conducive to beating a 2-3.
