What sort of talent gap. . . Topic

Between a starter and his backup would you guys usually require before you would set the starter to getting tired or even 'tired' or foul trouble only?

I set it to getting tired if the player is one of my best scorers or rebounders (or ball handlers). I only set it to tired if he's a star. Don't really take into consideration the backup because I usually have players listed at multiple positions on the depth chart so they can be moved around.

I'm specifically thinking, on my team, about Summerlin.  He's better than the backup guard by a country mile and counting, and is one of my best player to boot, and I think for division two I would call him a star - think I could make a good argument for him being one of Phelan's top ten guards, at any rate.

I think you have to play him at getting tired or even tired.  The total lack of passing amongst your non-starting guards means you need him on the court as much as humanly possible.
