Something is off about that.  According to b-r.com Canavan had 616 PA in 136 games (he played for 2 teams, but 136 appears to be a full season's worth of games that season in the American Association).   Prorate that to 162 games and you have 734 PA.  So where do the extra 264 PA come from?

Killen's IP are prorated.  He pitched 11 games for Milwaukee, 96.2 IP.  But Milwaukee played a total of 36 games in the AA that year.  Project to 162 games and Killen throws 96.2 * (162/36) = 435 innings.  Not sure why they list 436, except that it could be a rounding error somewhere.

As for Canavan, I have no idea.  Both of his teams played less than full seasons in the AA in 1891.  My guess is there was an error involved in the proration because of the unique nature of his totals.
