ratings improvement question Topic

going by my assistant coach's "Player Thoughts" email, i assumed a player of mine had average improvement possible in rebounding because the assistant coach did not mention that rating as being either high or low...it simply wasn't mentioned...

is that the way it works?

i ask because after 25 games of 16-18 minutes of practice per game (including starting and playing 24 mpg), he's gone up 1 point in REB from 20 to 21

that seems more like an extremely low potential rating and should have been mentioned in the email i would have thought.  or am i not undeerstanding the system right?

i have received no emails regarding moving practice minutes from this category and that's he's maxed out either.

thoughts?

I believe this is the player: Andrew Vallee

30 WE at start of season / 36 WE through 25 games

Plays 25 MPG

yes that's the guy - any other opinions?  i don't really consider that low WE or PT but maybe i am off on this?

I would send in a ticket and see what they say. I don't have any hard evidence, but I've had a few guards recently doing similar things with Reb. e.g. a SG with 15-high in Reb taking halfway through the season to improve a point. It feels like something screwy is happening to me, but I've been too lazy to do anything about it.

And I agree he should absolutely have improved more, given the WE/PT/practice min..even if it was the absolute lowest average upside. 3 or 4 points seems reasonable if it was barely average upside.

I think it is largely his WE, but 1 point does seem a tad low (2-3 would make more sense).  I agree on submitting a ticket and seeing what they say.

ok - will give it a shot...i was thinking i'd see 3-4 points but the fact that it's literally stuck on 1 seems like it's a nearly maxed out low rating...i'll let you know what i find out...

Oh and if his Reb has ever dropped in the offseason, that could be a factor. I ran into that particular problem with ST--it's more noticeable since ST (used to) always drop in the offseason--but I could see it happening with Reb too.

The deal there was offseason drops were creating more *room* to grow without appropriately increasing the *rate* of growth. So I ended up with a player showing average upside in ST and not improving a single point over 3 seasons..he was stuck in his maxed out rate of growth from his FR year.

I'm not aware that it was ever fixed btw. My impression is they made ST less of an automatic drop in the offseason and figured that would solve it.

I have seen what KB is describing. That could be it.
