I currently have 2 teams, one needed 7 recruits, the second needed only 3. I have benefited from good coaching on the second team with a 2nd place finish in conf, and a top 32 recruiting class for my first with the team. However my other Puget Sound, is awful. 7 Frosh (1s a walk on) and to top it off, the additional monies I would have had roll over to my next season (about 6 g in D3 not a small amount), I lost because of the walk on, which I had to take because of the 6 scholarships in one season. That sucked. It doesn't make sense for a system limitation to have that much of a negative on a team. As a player, I am not happy about that, but I am trying to build a successful team there.
The problem I have is that there is not enough going on to keep a player coming back a few times a day to check in. With HBD, I find myself looking in on the world chat, waiver wire, etc, and it holds more interest.
I guess its the nature of the game, that after recruiting things settle down into a predictable pattern, but I go days without seeing any news, or even nonsensical emails from my assistant coach.
There is a lack of immersion that in my opion doesn't hold the casual fans interest.
