Wouldn't it be cool if there was a generic video (30 seconds or so), that would go along with the game results.  A small box that would show a couple quick game shots such as a big dunk, steal and layup, block, or the game winner.  The video would be completely CGI players that way Fox wouldn't have to pay for rights for plays.  Heck, I know of at least 15 guys that live in my building who would volunteer to put on different colour jerseys and shorts and shoot some video for the footage used.

I wouldn't change game play, but would bring some additional fun for the users and ultimately, that drives revenue.

Fox might not want to put the money into creating CGI plays, although once the basic group of plays were put together, changing jerseys, player skins, and hair types could just be randomized.  If a smaller financial investment would be involved, option two above could be done.  Take some guys, pay'em peanuts ($100.00 would do), and then record them for a few hours.
