This is by far the best guard I've ever had and one of, if not the best, guards i've seen at D2, but for some reason he hasn't been playing up to his abilities. I'm not that concerned with his shooting because his percentages are fine, but his ast/to ratio really bothers me. I don't see why he isn't averaging 4-5 ast. Is there any way to change that? Is it just a matter of a small sample size or am I overestimating his abilities? 

A player isn't going to get 4-5 assists playing SG.

You just won a championship, and have a good chance of winning another one this season. Why nitpick?

I'm not really doing it to nitpick. Just wondering why. He played in the same backcourt last season as a SG and had better ast/to. I'm not trying to complain and i'm not that worried about it. I just couldn't figure out why this is and find it fun to try and figure out the engine.

Possibly a tougher SOS than last season is responsible for the decline.

Why is he taking so few shots?

Did you up his distro this year?  Also why does he play so few minutes?

Fastbreak tends to depress assists to good BH/Pass/SPD guards.  SGs almost never get 4 APG in any offense, and you'll probably never see that in fastbreak.

He's shooting a better percentage on 3 point shots than 2 point shots.  I had a guy like that...take off the handcuffs and let him jack them up.  As long as the % stays over .400, then its still very efficient scoring.  His stamina is going to hold him back a little, but not nearly as much as not playing him +1 or +2 with a much higher distro.

Thanks everyone. I'd like to give him higher distribution, but my other starting guard is shooting better percentages. And the other three starters all shoot good percentages, so, is there anyone I should be taking shots away from?
