I don't know if WIS had installed the fatigue settings before you left, but that is the setting of choice for the vast majority of coaches now. The general rule of thumb is that you want your starters to have at least 70 stamina. Using the Fairly Fresh setting gives you about 22-26 mpg per starter and keeps them from playing too much in the red. Playing players when tired has been tweeked and there is a very noticable dropoff in performance.
The rule for target minutes is to use the stamina as a percentage of the 40 minutes per game. So a 70 stamina should roughly mean a player can play 28 mpg before starting to drop off. However, the way the target minutes formula actually works is to give a player his minutes no matter how long he has been in there. This usually results in players being left in too long or being taken out just so another player can get his minutes. IMO, it is not close to being as efficient as the fatigue setting.
