I've been looking at pitchers from a lot of other teams lately and I am noticing some correlation between makeup and success.  Whenever I see a pitcher who's stats look better than his ratings, he's always at a makeup of 95 or more.

Question to the vets - has anyone noticed this in your worlds?  Is there any connection between makeup and overperformance, or am I dreaming this up based on a small sample of pitchers?

I look at makeup when drafting because it seems to help development, lessen decline, etc., but I've never thought of it as a performance modifier.

I don't have a tonne of experience, but I use Makeup as one of a couple of compensating factors when I have two guys that are similar enough in ratings to go wtih either.  Things like makeup, temper, etc, depending on your practice of moving guys through your system, in my opinion can make a difference.

Guys like Tec or MikeT can give you a more accurate response, and also some real HBD world examples that you can use to help you make a judgement.
