WAS THIS A BARGAIN OR WHAT? Topic

I'm always on the lookout for great bargain players, i.e., players who give you a lot of bang for the buck, and during the course of my limited time playing SLB, I've come across more than a few.   However, one of those players whom I often use is 2001 Mark McLemore - a bargain if there ever was one.  I just completed an OL with him at SS, and he never ceases to amaze me.  While playing at Kaufman Stadium, this guy hit .340, had a .424 OBP, slugged at .487 and had 15 doubles, 22 triples and 61 RBI.  Oh, and did I forget to mention he also stole 39 bases while getting caught only twice!!!  For $3mil, that's pretty hard to beat.

Not that I ever take fielding into consideration (which explains the **** poor performance) but how many errors and minus plays did he have?

In 106 starts at shortstop, he had 13 errors and 6 minus plays. I'll still take that because I don't have a problem with certain D- range guys.

I drafted and played him one seasib.  Batted him ninth, with the pitcher batting eighth.  He ended up having a decent season (don't recall exact stats) but his lack of AB was frustrating enough for me to not use him again.

He's good either as a platoon or as a utility guy.  But either way, he will give you a decent showing for his price.

McLemore's doing it again.  This time, at Coors.  In 24 total starts at SS, he's hitting almost .400, with an almost .500 obp and 500+ slugging, with only 2 errors and 2 minus plays.
