two guards.... which goes where? Topic

I have two senior D1 PGs and I wanted to know which one I should start at the PG and which at the SG.

They're both very similar with PER/BH/PA all right around 90. They both have a DE about 55.

THE REAL DIFFERENCE is that guard A has ATH/SPD of 67/98 and guard B has ATH/SPD of 37/74.

player B does have a slight rebounding edge (16 v. 6) and slight FT edge (B v. B-)

both players are maxed out everywhere.

Clearly A is the better player but which would you put at PG and which at SG?

You could consider switching them based on defensive matchups. Player A should have a clear defensive edge with his ath and speed being much higher, so stick him on the other team's best guard.

id want my best player handling the ball if all else was equal.  but pj is right too in that if starting my weaker player at pg wasn't going to hurt me against a particular opponent then i'd consider switching them based on the matchup

put the fast guy at PG and the slow guy at SG with a +2.   At D1, you need to let that that good player handle the ball in my opinion.  hopefully the slow guy can be open for some 3's (I wouldn't trust him driving much with that speed) and knock them down.

When all things are equal, Speed at PG.
