HARDEST DRAFT EVER!!! Topic

I'm not necessarily seeking responses, but I just wanted to share the fact that out of all the teams I've drafted in this game, I think the absolute hardest team to draft, beyond any doubt, is a team for a $40mil cap league. I've been trying to do it for several days now, and still can't get below $50mil. lol

I thought this was going to be about frozen beer?

The last update made a 40M team nearly impossible without AAA... unless everyone is going to be seriously fatigued.

I actually thought the current structure is fine for $40m... I've drafted more teams for $40m with a wider variance of strategy than I have in a long time. I will agree, however, that the last pricing update made it much harder than in the previous salary structure and the current salary structure has eliminated $40m themes such as the franchise leagues or the sub-$40m leagues like Jack used to run ($35m, $30m, and even $25m leagues)... I haven't even considered a $25m league under the current structure, but was in two in the prior salary structure.

Here's hoping the next update allows for some of these fun low cap leagues again, and maybe we can fill the $40m TOC faster.

The last league I ran my position players to 70% and my pitchers to 90%.  Others were able to keep their guys at 100%.  Sounds like you should play a $60M league.

The last $40M league I was in, my pitchers stayed at 100%, but the fielders ranged from 50-80%.  The team I just drafted might struggle on the pitching side.

I had two teams in zubinsum's last $40m league and I drafted one with the intention of playing both the hitters and pitchers down to 80%. That was the team that struggled to play .500 ball in a weak division. My other team I drafted with the intention of playing the hitters and pitchers both down to 85%, and that team won a tough division and lost to legaldh's WS winning team in the LCS.

Of the two teams I have in the current league, I drafted one with a platoon strategy in mind in which one half of the players will stay at or above 90% (where I play my players in every league), while the other half will play down to 70% and the pitchers will try to stay above 90%. The other team I drafted along the same lines as the winning team from the last season with a plan of 85% for both hitters and pitchers.

That's a little too cerebral for me Just4me, so since this is will be my first $40mil league, and since I haven't a clue as to how those leagues play out and am having a tough time drafting, I'm to the point of just referecing one of my $80mil teams and cutting each players salary in half, and use that as my drafting strategy.  Yeah, I know I will probably get creamed in the league, but I'll take it on the chin and learn for the next time.
