Just thought I would update, I dropped him just now after he showed no improvement at all, his average was still hovering at .230 and his SLG had dropped as well (his only redeeming quality was his AVG against lefties, but that dropped about 50 points in 9 games). I picked up '14 Sam Crawford in his place, I figure that even if Crawford hits for around .280 with a half decent SLG percentage it will be worth it.

Now you see what I'm talking about.  Crawford will do no worse than what the other guy was doing, and is very much more likely to do a lot more.
